Design and Analysis of Transformable Wheel with Pivoting-Head Mechanism

A transformable wheel designed in this study is proposed to meet the increasingly complex travel requirements of people because it urgent provide a smooth and barrier-free scheme changeable urban land. The wheel, with 10 pivoting-head parts, allows vehicles wheels surmount low-height obstacles that deliberately complicates terrain such as blind roads, small steps, bumps door sills, achieve low-consumption travel. In study, we demonstrate improve its performance by nearly 30% under road conditions especially suitable for carts suitcases passing through lanes low stairs.
